The distribution on social media is the news that Puerto Rican artist Rafael Rivera Rosa (1942-2025) has recently passed away. We express our deep sadness to his circle of family and friends.

Rafael Rivera Rosa was born in 1942 in Comelio, Puerto Rico. He served as a Master’s degree (MFA) in Fine Arts at the Platt Institute, New York in 1989. In 1987, he graduated from the University of Puerto Rico, a Bachelor of Arts degree (BA) at the Rio Piedras campus. In 1962, the Association of Arts in Architectural Drawings from the Commercial Institute of Puerto Rico. seriography and woodblock prints from the Puerto Rican Institute of Culture under graphic artist Lorenzo Homar, 1960-1962. Paintings with painter Domingo Garcia, 1959-1964. In 1970 he founded the tall de Arte Grafica Bija with René Pietori and Nelson Samborin. He has held 34 solo exhibitions and participated in over 300 local and international group exhibitions.
Rivera Rosa expressed herself through mediums such as painting, painting, graphic art, digital art, silkscreen and digital posters. His works range from symbolism, surrealism, and pop art to geometric art, abstract expressionism and parochial art. He was a professor of art at the Department of Art in the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Licorio Piedras Puerto Rico and a professor of painting at the San Juan School of Art.
