Puddle of Mud Wes Scantlin Police said they stopped him for a traffic violation, which resulted in a tense standoff and officers eventually resorting to using pepper spray to remove him from the vehicle before arresting him.
Burbank police told TMZ that Wesley was arrested on Wednesday after police stopped his black Hummer H2 in Burbank for a traffic violation and asked for identification. Officers said they discovered Scantlin had an outstanding warrant for his arrest from a previous incident for possessing a weapon at the airport.
When officers asked Wesley to get out of the car, he reportedly refused … and after several attempts, crisis negotiators came in to negotiate, but officers say he still wouldn’t budge.
Our sources say spray was then used, but that was ineffective, and at around 4am SWAT teams responded to the scene, smashing the car windows and firing non-lethal tear gas canisters, eventually forcing the gunman to surrender and get him out of the vehicle.
He was rushed to hospital to have his eyes washed out with pepper balls, but he was fine after all.
Wes was then booked into jail on an outstanding warrant and a new charge of resisting arrest. Wes was then served a summons and released, with his trial reportedly scheduled for August 20th.
