“This poll reveals a significant shift in the overall mood and preferences of young Americans as the election campaign enters its final stages,” said John Della Volpe, polling director at the Institute of Politics.
A Harvard Youth Poll earlier this year showed President Joe Biden leading President Trump by just 13 points among young voters in multi-candidate districts. In contrast, the latest poll shows Harris leading President Trump by 31 points in multi-candidate districts.
The Harvard Youth Poll surveyed 2,002 young people between the ages of 18 and 29 from Sept. 4 to 16. The margin of error for the full sample is +/- 2.65 percentage points.
