playsafe id – The gamer platform that protects scammers, hackers, bots and predators from games has raised $1.12 billion (1 million euros) in pre-seed funds.
The goal is to bring trust, fairness and accountability to the gaming community without compromising the privacy or freedom of the players.
The round was led Early Game VenturesParticipation from Hartman Capital and Overwolf. The raised capital will encourage rapid expansion and integration of its strategic platform as the company will push its key markets and target over 250,000 users in the coming months.
“This round gives us the firepower to move quickly, expand our world-class teams and partner with games that want the most fair and safe environment for players to enjoy,” he said. Andrew WalesCEO of Playsafe ID, in a statement. “This is more important than ever. Cheating in the game isn’t just reviving the mission of IDs to protect gamers by guiding online safety laws that lead to long overdue requirements for children’s protection in games, as a mass epidemic that ruins daily fun for players, and by guiding online safety laws that lead to long overdue requirements for protecting children in games.
Built with a privacy-first mindset, PlaySafe ID issues a verified, anonymous, and game-independent digital ID that proves that users are authentic and cheating or inappropriate to children in the game. These are core issues that continue to erode online experiences across the game.
By providing a single, secure identity layer, the platform enables both developers and communities to carry out fair play across titles without sacrificing the anonymity of the player or the open and creative nature of the game.
The early game ventures that led the round are known for supporting early stage Frontier Tech. “Playsafeid believes that in a world where AI and anonymity erode safety and fairness, it builds a trustworthy layer for games. Christian MunteanuManaging Partner of Early Game Ventures, in a statement. “PlaySafeid builds network effects. Flywheel. Once gamers are verified through Playsafeid, their identity becomes portable in games, platforms, and genres. It’s worth it as much as developers adopt it into players.

Hartmann Capital, an investment company focused on the emerging digital ecosystem, also joined the Playsafe ID seed round.
“Games have quickly become our world’s new social centre, with over 3 billion active gamers becoming global. Despite their vast social and economic values, the gaming ecosystem is barely gabang. Accountability is fragmented across platforms, allowing bad actors to create new accounts and migrate between games to avoid consequences.” Felix Hartmanmanaging partner of Hartmann Capital. “Playsafe introduces a judicial system for the digital world. This will enhance accountability, safety and fairness in an online space that has grown to become increasingly toxic and less than unmanned. As a universal authority across a single game and across the nation, Playsafe establishes rules for digital law across multiplayer platforms around the world.”
PlaysAfe ID is currently integrated with several major gaming platforms, with the initial partnership expected to begin later this year.
origin

In a message to GamesBeat, Wailes said that he inspired CAE from his lifelong love for the game.
“I really love the competition and the challenges, the social aspects, the incredible world and games that we all can play. Games are special to me and have always been. Unfortunately, the game has changed,” Wails said. “This journey started with me and my friends all getting frustrated with the amount of con artists who have come across everything we played. It was more than ever and it seemed like everyone I knew had been experiencing the same thing.”
He felt his hobby was eroded.
“One day, one of my best friends joked: “Hey Andrew, you work in technology and games. Please fix this for us.” “It was a Jokey exchange, but it was with me. I didn’t like what was going on about what I loved. I used to know that the game could get better.
He thought about it and felt like all the roads pointing to the same problem.
“It doesn’t matter if you’re being cheated or not because you’re just creating a new account and coming straight back,” he said.
He said this also gives cheat developers an unfair advantage over game developers and anti-cheat solutions. If they’re caught, they essentially have an unlimited number of lives to come back and find a way to update the cheat, and not be able to detect again. The endless cycle of cats and mice continues, and players suffer.
“And also, after becoming a dad for the first time, I started to hear horror stories about the volume of child grooming and abuse. It doesn’t matter that both cheating and grooming have the same root cause. I just created a new account and came back,” Wails said. “Meaningful accountability is a lacking element.”
And his inspiration was the idea that the game could be better, fairer and more enjoyable for everyone.
“The idea that children should be able to explore these amazing worlds without the risks they face today. I want to make the game better, so I do my best to become a fortress for players, children, parents and games.
The team has seven people from locations such as Google and Jagex. It is currently planned to expand.
Wales began in early 2023 at Cambridge, England at a free time.
“I spent about six months researching the issues and researching how the solution works for gamers and chatting with their peers,” he said. “We then put together a prototype/concept implementation and ran some rental game servers on some tests. From this success and reception from gamers, we decided that we had filmed this was a real solution that could really make the game even better.
How it works

Wales said it was super easy on the surface. Gamers can request PlaySafe IDs, and they only have one to date.
“They create accounts with us and do quick verification. This is driven by our incredible partners, Onfido and the KYC and the ID verification industry giants (who knows your customers).
“We use zero knowledge validation in Onfido. They manage our validation and only notify us if the check is successful, and this process means that we don’t have to play data, documents, or biometrics from the validation that ensures that all users are legal.”
Users connect their PlaySafe ID to games and services. The game calls the API and asks if it can be played. If yes, they can play. If not, they can’t. It’s just as easy.
“Regarding the issuance of penalties and prohibitions; Game developers will notify you of violations of child cheating, botting, or child grooming/sexualization (CSAM/CSEA). We consider high-tech sending developer trust scores, game context, game context, violation context, and are told to be violations. “This process and technology means that false affirmations can be minimized while implementing meaningful penalties across games and services. Finally, there are some cool security features.”
“Obviously, PlaySafe IDs are valuable and we want to ensure that users are not stolen their accounts and that they cannot trade PlaySafe IDs. If you see any suspicious activity, you can temporarily suspend them until you get another selfie that matches the original that the user used to verify themselves.
