The Petrogaz Angels finally cut the tag as a contender for the finale, forcing the cool smashers of the Cream Line to abandon the throne with a 25-21, 25-16, 23-25, 25-19 victory in Game 3 of the PVL All-Philipino Conference Finals on Saturday night.
Jonah Sabete fired a stinging cross-court hit at match points, finishing years of frustration as the Angels quenched their thirst for the trophies they had finally escaped multiple times.
Nelson Asaytono, famous snub finally becomes the largest list of PBAs

Of all the players added to the Philippine Basketball Association’s biggest stars list, none of them were more inexplicable than Nelson Asightno.
The committee was tasked with adding another 10 names to make the number of members on the PBA’s largest list 50 along the league’s golden anniversary, and completed that list on Wednesday.
Asaytono, snabbed among the first 25 people induced in 2000, was also removed from the 15 players list, which was added to the 2015 league 40th anniversary.

Philippine tennis star Alex Ira has confirmed that holding a Philippine passport poses challenges when applying for a visa to compete in international tournaments.
Since joining Rafanadal Academy, Ira, based in Mallorca, Spain, shared that securing travel documents for visa requirements, especially for last-minute tennis tournaments, is part of her struggle as a Filipino athlete. According to the Henry Passport Index, the Philippines passport ranks 75th in terms of travel freedom as of January.

Adamson star Shaina Nitura was clearly handling what she accomplished after the Lady Falcons won at Far Eastern University in the UAAP Season 87 Women’s Volleyball Tournament.
The record-breaking rookie joined it again on Saturday, reaching another milestone by scoring the most points in a season with 14-25, 29-27, 25-22 and 25-22 wins.
Nitura hit 314 season points total. This is two more than the previous record held by Alyssa Valdes of the Ateneo Blue Eagles in Season 77.
