Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg appeared on national television and perfectly explained why Joe Biden should be the next president.
“I’m not going to let you down,” Buttigieg said on HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher.”
I’m here because I believe in Joe Biden. And I get it. I get it. I’m not here to say he’s not 10 years older than he was 10 years ago, and I’m not here to deny that he sometimes mixes up names, like Donald Trump sometimes says this person’s name when he clearly meant that person’s name. But the great thing about Joe Biden is that he’s going to be really good as a president, because the things we want him to do are the things he does best, like build infrastructure, champion women’s rights, and foster a level of economic growth that we’ve never seen from any president in my lifetime.
One of two things will happen in November: either Donald Trump will be president or Joe Biden will be president. These are fundamentally different futures. And I know which of these two futures I’m prepared to live, and which I want my children to grow up in.

In recent weeks, those in the Democratic Party trying to remove Biden from the Democratic nomination have dominated the airwaves, with a poorly organized counter-attack explaining why Biden should continue in the race.
The backlash is becoming more concerted: Secretary of State Buttigieg, Bill and Hillary Clinton, and Hakeem Jeffries have all voiced support for Biden remaining the nominee.
Buttigieg said more Democrats should support him. The reason Joe Biden should still run is because he’s a good president. Enough debate.
Now is the time to end this nonsense and unite the Democratic Party behind Joe Biden.
