“I don’t know how much they think about each other at the end of this season,” Josh told the magazine, referring to Chiara and Rafe’s volatile history.
He explained that after JJ was stabbed by his biological father, Chandler Groff:J. Anthony Crane), in the final moments of the season 4 finale, Chiara goes into a downward spiral. (Even though JJ gave the blue crown to Groff and obtained the treasure, Groff killed him. As JJ was dying, he told Chiara how much he loved her.)
“I think Chiara is really bent on revenge, and so is Rafe,” Josh said. “He has different motivations, but his bond with the Pogues is stronger than ever.”

“We know how great Drew and Madison are as actors and how great they both are,” Josh teased. “So we’re definitely going to look into that relationship.”
When the reporter joked that the “enemies-to-lovers” storyline was “classic for a reason,” Burke teased that he should ask Jonas. But Jonas remained adamant that his audience was always Team Giara.
“I think you’re all in the minority,” Jonas said of Rafe and Chiara’s relationship, saying the team “recognizes” that there are viewers who are shameless fans of the potential pairing.
