MANILA, Philippines — Northport’s main man Irvin Trentino is about to become the emotional anchor for Batampia in the PBA Commissioner Cup semi-final series against Ginebra.
Northport scored yet another hit at Araneta Coliseum Iafter on Sunday, succumbing to a 127-100 blowout loss N game 3 at the hands of the Gin Kings.

The defeat has made Batan’s pier spiraling through the 0-3 hole, making it a difficult place to leave, but Trentino is in the mood for the team in the hopes of recovering from three straight beatdowns.

“We’ve actually achieved this meeting too much, so we’re really positive and sticking to each other. This is what’s hard to be down 0-3 right now. We can’t say we’re good now, we’re down, but the morale of our team is still fine.”
Other teams in the PBA have never climbed from the 0-3 series deficit, except for San Miguel Beeman against Alaska’s ace, which is now decommissioned in the 2016 Philippine Cup Finals.

However, Trentino shows some major struggles in this series. In Game 3 he finished with just 15 points. It’s far from his elimination round, averaging 23.0 points per game.
He scored eight points in Game 1 and 15 points in Game 2.
Without a lot of leverage, Trentino said Northport still has a chance against Guinebra in the upcoming games on Wednesday.
“We eliminated them and beat them, but they really adapted to us in the playoffs. Now, we’re still looking for answers. We haven’t clicked a lot. It’s good to have one more chance on Wednesday,” he said.
