taxonomic revision of Stignus A party incident that took place in Columbia in 1833. new species Stignus apapolis sp. November is described in Lake Talaira in the departments of Guaviare and Vaupes in the Colombian Amazon region. The genus was first recorded in eight Colombian departments: Amazonas, Caqueta, Casanare, Cundinamarca, Guaviare, Meta, Risaralda and Vaupes. new geographical record S. Gersti (Roewer, 1963) and comments on that type of locality are provided. Two species were recorded for the first time in Colombia. Stignus Nogueirai Pinto da Rocha and Turinho, 2012 (Guaviare and Vaupes departments) and S. Simonis Sørensen, 1932 (Amazonas). Several new geographical records of this genus in the Amazon region are presented, with the presence of two unidentified species recorded for the first time in the state of Ceará (Brazil) and the department of Madre de Dios (Peru). An updated distribution map of this genus in Colombia and South America is provided. Finally, taxonomic studies of Gonileptoidea describe six longitudinal rows of tubercles on the legs. Here, these lines are identified as species of the genus. Stignus Additional rows are detected and named.
