As the end of support for Windows 10 approaches, Microsoft is actively promoting upgrades to Windows 11 by introducing exciting new features. An important addition is the AI-powered search feature. Yusuf Mehdi, vice president and chief consumer marketing officer at Microsoft, said users will no longer have to remember file names or document locations. Instead, Windows intuitively understands your intent and matches documents, images, files, or emails more effectively.

This advanced search is similar to Google Lens, allowing users to find files, images, and more by simply describing what they’re looking for in plain language. AI understands user intent, making it easier to find items without the exact file name or location.
However, this powerful feature will initially be limited to high-end “Copilot+ branded PCs” with specific processors and dedicated AI hardware. Microsoft plans to initially release this feature to the Windows Insider program to test it before rolling it out broadly.
Essentially, Microsoft is leveraging AI to enhance the search experience in Windows 11, making it more intuitive and user-friendly while also promoting its latest hardware products.
