National Signing Day: Big Ten Ratings
The 2025 recruiting class is now nearly complete, and some programs did very well, while others did not so well. This is the Big Ten report card looking at each program’s recruiting classes after National Signing Day.
illinois

There’s a lot to like about this class illinois We’ll do it together. The team had a good year on the field and it paid off with this class. Versatile defenseman Jah’Sean Newton and linebacker Grant Biermann are the only four-star players in this class. However, quarterback Carson Boyd, tight end Logan Ferrell and wide receiver Brayden Trimble were all able to get on the field early. The team brought in late Big Ten running back John Foster.

Hoosiers had magical first season under coach Kurt Cignetti. Although it wasn’t fully reflected in recruitment this year, we expect a significant rebound next year. This class has a lot of players with great growth potential. Defensive ends Triston Abram and Tyron Burrus are great additions to the defense. Theonta Stewart Jr. is a fascinating do-it-all athlete who came to Bloomington.

Linebacker Burke Gaucher is a great prospect. This class performs better than the ranking.

Four-star quarterback Malik Washington is the headliner of this class and a prospect that many programs were looking to flip. Four-star linebacker Charlton Smith from Virginia should also make an immediate impact on the team.

The Wolverines have become one of the most talked about teams in the country thanks to their impressive finish. Keeping five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood home made a lot of headlines. However, there are two other five-star players in this class signed in Nathaniel Marshall and Nathaniel Owusu Boateng. This is also a class that excels in trenching and defense. The Huskers’ class looks a lot like any coach matt rule I want his class to look like this: It’s deep and full of athletic players with good testing metrics. The linebacker group of four-star Christian Jones, four-star Dawson Merritt, and three-star Pierce Mooberry is very good. Four-star quarterback TJ Lateef has been impressive every time I’ve seen him.

The Wildcats will have to do this a little differently in their recruiting efforts. They don’t have much to beat the NIL, and the academic standards shrink the pool of players who can come to the school. Texas wide receiver Braden Blewitt is a great addition to the future of the offense. Caden O’Rourke is a defensive lineman who is expected to play for the team in the future.

The Buckeyes entered this day with the No. 1 recruiting class in the country, but that wasn’t the case. They suffered some losses down the stretch, most notably losing five-star Naeem Offord to Big Ten foe Oregon. But a class led by No. 1 overall pick Tavian St. Clair and five-star cornerback Devin Sanchez will be tough to beat.

The Ducks finished National Signing Day with the No. 1 class in the Rivals recruiting rankings. This is a great class from top to bottom. The best way to know what type of recruiting they have turned into is that the team signed four different five-star prospects. wide receiver Dacorien Moore, safety Trey McNutt, offensive lineman Douglas Utu and defensive back Naeem Offord. Boilermakers are in an incredibly tough spot. coach ryan walters had just been launched and most of the commits had already escaped from the class. There was talk Wednesday that no one would sign. However, the team signed six prospects, including four-star defensive back Jintraek Otei. We’ll probably know more after they hire a new coach, see what this class looks like, what they can do in the second half, and hit the portal hard.

coach Greg Schiano The class got off to a strong start, but things slowed down as signing date approached. Still, this is a pretty good class of players to play for him. There are three four-stars in this class. Defensive back Rennick Drillas, defensive lineman Braxton Kyle and offensive lineman Jaelyn Matthews are the jewels of the group. Ohio State tight end Ben Roshaar may also be worth keeping an eye on as a sleeper.

The Bruins have been a bit of a pleasant surprise this cycle. coach deshaun foster They were able to sign five different four-star prospects this cycle. As a result, Westwood attracts top-end talent. The team got some good news on signing day with the addition of four-star wide receiver Marcus Harris to the class. This is a fulfilling first full class for the coach.
