MANILA, Philippines — Myra Pablo and Brooke Van Sickle incited Petrogaz’s fiery attacks by defeating Capital 1, 25-19, 25-23 and 25-21 in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference quarterfinals on Saturday at Philsport Arena.
Finishing with a 10-1 record in the spare round, the Angels cruised to their 10th straight victory and booked tickets to the three quarter finals against the seventh seed.

Pablo poured with 17 points, 15 kills, 1 block and an ace.
The two reinforcement meetings were newly transformed into Pablo and Van Chickle, and after dodging the brave stands of the solar spikers in the first two sets, they had to pull out third, 16-10 off MJ Phillips’ block.

Capital1 made a final ditch effort, turning the 23-17 deficit into a three-point game after a 23-20 Des Clemente-De Guzman hit, but Leila Cruz’s service error sent Petro Gazz at match points. Heather Guino-O saved the points just to excavate the attacks that Ethan Ark won in the game.

Petro Gaz fought back from a 16-18 deficit in the second set as Pablo and Van Sickle told them they were going to reach the set point. Capital1 reduced it by one after Pablo’s attack error, but Isa Mazo Pontila finished the set with a 2-0 lead.
In the first set, the Angels tallied seven kill blocks and convincingly drew the first blood.
Capital1 is relegated to play-in, with the last two quarter-final verses being glove.
The Solar Spyker is scheduled to loser with No. 2 Angels in Pool A with Cignal HD Spyker and Akari-Farm’s fresh quarterfinal game loser.
