Recently, there has been more buzz around NAD+, and there have been some amazing ways that it can benefit your body. I have preached many times about magnesium and heard the methods needed to make at least 300 reactions in the body. But nad? Over 400 enzymes in the body require NAD more than any other vitamin co-enzyme.

I recently had the opportunity to give it a try Qualia’s NAD+ Supplements So I wanted to share my thoughts about it. And along the way, I learned more about NAD and why it is so important to our bodies.

What is NAD?

Scientifically, NAD stands for coenzyme nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide. Most of our organizations can also convert it into another form of NADP. This helps to turn carbohydrates, fats and proteins into ATP.

Our bodies use NAD in so many processes throughout our bodies. NAD is also involved in so many different areas of our health.

First, NAD maintains genome integrity and gene expression. It also helps cells communicate with each other and maintain their antioxidant functions within the cells. It plays an important role in our metabolic pathways, helping our cells and tissues stay healthy and maintain their natural function. NAD also helps in DNA repair and immune cell function. One of the biggest roles that it plays is to help us maintain healthier cells and energy as we age.

Benefits of NAD for a healthier body and mind

It helps in repairing DNA damage from everyday wear and tears of the body. Animal studies have shown that this can help to extend lifespan. NAD plays a major role in maintaining the length of the telomere. These DNA endcaps keep your chromosomes neat and tidy with longer lifespans.

NAD also helps protect cells from the harmful effects of stress, helping them become more resilient. Researchers have linked NAD with improved energy, improved muscle recovery, improved memory, and focus.

How to get a NAD

NAD is not something we get directly from food or supplements. Rather, when we consume vitamin B3 (niacin), our bodies convert it into NAD. Some foods are fortified with niacin, but they are often highly processed bread and cereals. Our body can also convert the amino acid tryptophan to niacin. However, whether tryptophan can actually be converted to niacin varies very dramatically from person to person.

Niacin can be found naturally in certain foods, especially animal foods. Liver, chicken and turkey contain the best amounts. However, to equalize the same amount of B3 with Quaria’s NAD+ supplement, you will need to eat 25 tablespoons of chicken breast or 17 tablespoons of beef liver a day. And because niacin is water soluble, our bodies need it every day and don’t store it.

When we take actual NAD, our bodies are such a large molecule that we struggle to use it. The NAD is not very useful when it’s on one end and the other! Instead, taking NAD precursors (also known as niacin) allows our bodies to better make their own NADs that are much more bioavailable.

Even with these NAD precursors, our bodies need other nutrients to truly absorb and use NAD.

The problem of aging

I am quickly approaching middle age, so I am more aware of healthy aging. Thankfully there are many lifestyle choices we control that can help this process become smoother. Thinking about it for a while comes to mind creams and lotions with wrinkled skewers. However, true healthy aging begins at the cellular level from within.

As we age, we not only reduce our NAD, but our bodies break down what we do faster. Our bodies help to release a compound called CD-38, which helps to reduce NAD levels. The downside of this is that as you get older, your NAD levels will be much lower and your CD-38 will be much higher. So we may begin to break away more and get too low in levels.

The decline of NAD is linked to a variety of aging-related diseases. These include impaired brain function, cancer, metabolic diseases, and loss of skeletal muscle. And since muscles are organs that last a long life, we want to keep as many as possible!

The good news is that restoring NAD levels can slow and even reverse these aging side effects.

Get enough NAD

If you don’t want to eat 17 servings of beef every day, the best thing to do is make up! However, taking niacin (the precursor of NAD) has its drawbacks. Our bodies need other joint factors to truly absorb and use niacin/NAD.

This is where Qualia’s NAD+ supplements really shine. They formulated it to include several different ingredients that all work together for better bioavailability. Let’s take a closer look at some of the ingredients and why they are included.

Trans Levelatrol – Resveratrol is naturally found in dark berries and grapes. This polyphenol antioxidant has been shown to reduce brain inflammation and may help sharpen memory. When used with NAD, resveratrol and other antioxidants can help prevent NAD from being too fast in the body.

Vitamin b – Niacin (the precursor of NAD) is also known as vitamin B3. Qualia’s NAD+ supplement also includes the full range of vitamin B. Taking B3 alone can cause imbalances in the body over time. It also requires B vitamins for energy, cell repair and brain function. Also, unlike synthetic versions, these are cultured in brewer’s yeast for optimal absorption.

magnesium – I take magnesium supplements regularly and it also helps my body get better use of NAD. Magnesium supports enzymes that make NADs and helps keep mitochondria healthy.

Aquamin – A trace mineral blend made from red algae. Minerals use NAD for things like DNA repair to help the body’s enzymes to function more efficiently. These minerals also help maintain mitochondrial health and maintain optimal NAD ratios.

Organic Coffee Berries -This is not a coffee berry shrub growing along the west coast. Also known as coffee cherries, it is a fruit from the coffee bean plant. For a long time, coffee cherries have been thrown away as waste, but recently scientists have discovered their benefits.

Details of Coffee Berries

Coffee fruits are rich in antioxidants that fight cell aging and disease and improve the immune system. It also protects healthy brain function and plays a role in combating age-related brain problems. Coffee fruit also has caffeine, which helps you use NAD better.

Caffeine turns on AMPK enzymes and helps cells manage their energy levels. When energy drops, AMPK increases NAD production. It is also linked to regulating metabolism and is useful for cells with functions such as autophagy.

What does Science say about Qualia nad+?

In recent years there has been a lot of research into NAD and how it benefits the body. Qualia supplements also contain a blend of cofactors, so I wanted to know how it worked in the study. One placebo-controlled study examined how qualia NAD helped both men and women.

Overall, Qualia NAD increased NAD levels by an average of 67%. However, women in particular saw even more benefits. Women had a 19% reduction in health challenges that tend to accompany aging, almost twice as much as the placebo group. There have been significant improvements to various markers, including:

  • Low irritability
  • Feel better
  • Lower tension
  • Improved general well-being
  • Better sleep
  • I feel less tired

My experience with Qualia Nad+

I recently managed to experiment with taking Qualia’s NAD supplements. They play an important role in supporting your circadian rhythm, so it is recommended to take it in the morning. I noticed an increase in energy and increased focus.

However, if you are not used to taking supplements that contain supplements, you may need to start slowly. Some people can experience “flushing” when the skin turns red due to increased circulation. My skin didn’t turn red, but it felt a little warmer to improve circulation!

Another thing is that Qualia’s Nad has Coffeeberry Extract caffeine. It contains 28 mg of caffeine, which is equivalent to a cup of green tea. If you’re really sensitive to caffeine, avoid this supplement. I don’t like to eat a lot of caffeine in one day. I don’t drink coffee every day, but while I was trying out the supplements, I chose more Decaff coffee. Overall, it’s still a very small amount and I don’t feel wary. Additionally, coffee berries play an important role in helping to improve NAD work.

Qualia’s Final Thoughts on NAD+

I really love that Qualia sticks to high quality, bioavailable nutritional sources when it comes to supplements. And as we get older, Nad+ is a truly amazing way to support our brains and bodies in the process.
