MSNBC personality Joy Reid has gone on an objectively insane rant, accusing Donald Trump of using his surviving an assassination attempt as a photo opportunity.
Insanity might be an exaggeration.
Reacting to the news that President Biden has contracted COVID-19, Reid suggested Biden’s recovery will be as impressive as President Trump’s recovery after he was shot.
“If he (Biden) gets better in a few days, doesn’t that mean the exact same thing?” she asked the panel, which included former White House press secretary Jen Psaki.
There are two ways to answer this: 1) “No,” or 2) “No, what medications are you taking?”
Instead, Psaki agreed.

Joy Reid suggests Trump stood up for ‘photoshoot’ after being shot
I’ve grown accustomed to Joy Reid’s stupid, ignorant commentary, but this one had me doing a double take. It’s ridiculous as hell.
Just look at the phrasing of her analysis: She suggests Trump and Biden are equally old, claims that Trump only stood up for a photo op after nearly getting his head blown off, and claims Biden deserves equal credit for taking a three-day nap to get over COVID.
Reid complains that Trump’s surviving an assassination attempt is seen as a “sign of strength.” She suggests Biden’s recovery from COVID-19 should be similarly celebrated: “If he’s healthy and able to hold rallies, isn’t that just the same thing?”
“That’s what should happen,” Jen Psaki said. pic.twitter.com/P6CS47Q2PX— Nick Fondacaro (@NickFondacaro) July 17, 2024
This is not a myth. Let’s look at each statement one by one.
“These are two senior citizens,” Reid said. “Donald Trump is a senior citizen, and for some reason he was given nine seconds to take an iconic photo in the middle of a mass shooting.”
Absolutely not. I pray for the kindness of your heart, Joy. Treating them as age equals doesn’t work, especially since we’re only a few weeks removed from a debate that made it clear that Trump is light years ahead of Biden, both physically and cognitively.
“But the fact that he got through it, bounced back quickly and went straight to the party conference is being presented in the media as a sign of strength,” she added.
This is not a media issue. Anybody with a fair view of reality would see that Trump responded strongly and courageously to the assassination attempt.
“The current president of the United States is 81 years old, has COVID-19 and is expected to recover in a few days, but doesn’t that mean exactly the same thing?,” Reid continued. “Does that mean he’s older than Trump and therefore more susceptible to a disease that was once fatal to someone his age?”
Joy Reid scoffed when Trump recovered. “Trying to look tough” from COVID. And that’s rear She accused him of faking COVID-19 to avoid a debate with Biden.
“So if he manages to get through and come back and hold rallies, isn’t that the exact same thing?” Reid asked.
“That’s how it should be!” Psaki agreed.
See above – No. Or, No. What medications are you taking?

MSNBC was concerned about “inappropriate” reporting
Remember, this is the same network that pulled its flagship morning show in the aftermath of the assassination attempt over concerns that one of its guests might say something stupid.
And with Joy Reid saying something so obviously stupid and Psaki nodding along like a bobblehead in agreement, network executives might want to cut them out of their coverage of the Republican National Convention entirely.
Sure, the iconic and historic photo of a defiant Trump with his fist raised, blood streaming from his face, urging the crowd to “fight” is a real treat. It’s already hurtful to many on the left.
Photo editor for major news media He recently told Axios They argued that the photo should be banned. “No matter how amazing the photo is, it’s dangerous for media organizations to continue sharing it,” the anonymous journalist said.
Yeah, it’s pretty good. Legendary even.

Imagine the mindset of a former president deciding to pose for a photo op after coming so close to having his head blown off on national television.
