Founders of Ben & Jerry’s, Jenny’s and Malai Partner with MoveOn to ‘Scoop the Vote’

Washington DC – Reportedly USA TodayMoveOn Political Action will be launching its Get Out the Vote “Scoop the Boat” tour on September 16th. The tour will be traveling in an ice cream truck to key battleground states and districts, handing out free ice cream with special guests, as part of its ongoing efforts to reach and engage voters. Throughout the tour, MoveOn has formed various partnerships at the local and national level to increase its impact. They have partnered with the co-founder of Ben & Jerry’s. Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfielda limited edition signed Kamala Coconut Jubilee pint will be given away in a lucky draw. MoveOn is also Jenni BrittonFounder of Jenny’s Ice Creamand Malai Ice Cream On tour in New York.
Following a kickoff event with Cohen and Greenfield in Philadelphia on September 16, when early voting begins in Pennsylvania, MoveOn’s Scoop the Boat tour will include stops in more than 20 cities across battleground states, including rallies in Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona and Nevada. The tours will feature free ice cream and other giveaways, as well as appearances from elected officials, activists and other special guests. At each stop, MoveOn will help participants make a plan to vote before November 5 and show voters how to encourage their friends and family to vote.
“While excitement and joy are on our side right now, we must not lose sight of how close this election will be. A few thousand votes will determine whether we live under a democracy with Kamala Harris or a dictatorship with Donald Trump,” he said. MoveOn will offer a variety of election-themed ice cream flavors, including “Ice Cream with Vanilla Bean,” “Inauguration Celebration Birthday Cake,” “Fight for Your Rights Sherbet,” and “MoveOn Mobilizer Milk Chocolate.” They are also collaborating with local ice cream shops along the tour. Additionally, MoveOn has partnered with Ben & Jerry’s co-founders Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield to raffle off free limited-edition pints of Ben’s Best’s “Kamala’s Coconut Jubilee Ice Cream.” Tour participants can collect prizes at each tour stop or at the MoveOn Mobilizer Milk Chocolate. online.
Scoop the Boat Tours will support the organization’s $32 million endowment. 2024 Election Programmeaims to persuade and mobilize “surge” voters who rarely vote in key districts to vote for Democrats in elections up and down the aisle.
