morrissey is far too popular for his own good, and proof of that is what happened on Saturday night, which caused him to abruptly withdraw from the concert.
Morrissey was performing at Fair Park Music Hall in Dallas, and the show was a huge success right up to the encore. When he returned to the stage to sing “First of the Gang to Die,” a fan jumped on stage and approached him.
As Morrissey’s bodyguard nervously tries to monitor the situation, a copycat attacker comes in for a hug. Another fan did the same, and then another.
The two bodyguards are clearly feeling the heat as they move from handshakes to hugs – all while Morrissey sings.
Fans rushed onto the stage one by one, but the last one got so mad that Morrissey rushed off stage.
There were casualties…one of the bodyguards apparently messed up his leg by jumping off the stage – he clearly couldn’t put any weight on one leg.
As we say…too popular.
