The waste of victory
BET’s latest Rockies Ray has been raining for about two hours since it was supposed to be the first pitch, despite zero rain in Kansas City. It could end up in about seven innings before the heavy rains, but again, why could it be revisiting the Giants Yankees controversy a few weeks ago? I’m still grateful for that “no action” ruling.
Currently we will proceed on Thursday, including a trip to Fenway Park. The Seattle Mariners and Boston Red Sox will close out their three-game set after both teams split a high-scoring matchup in the first two contests. Does the series finale match these previous results?
Opposed to au. It’s not a stellar pitching matchup with tap.
For the home team, Garrett Crochet will win the ball in the sixth start of the Red Sox rotation. A lot has been done about Boston’s acquisition of a 6-foot-6-foot-6 left-handed man during the offseason. A rather sturdy replacement for the player Go to the other side in return for his service – and crochet undoubtedly outweighs high expectations early on.
On entering today’s mission, he’ll tie him down to the .168/.236/.204 slash line, with a great 1.13 ERA and 0.91 whip in 32 innings and absolutely employs batters. No, that’s not a typo. Crochet’s opposite slugging rate is over 30 points than the on-base percentage.
Of the 113 at-bats recorded in crochet, only two hits for an extra base (one home run and one double). The strikeout rate for the 25-year-old is currently at 9.8 k/9, so KS is as good as usual.
You can make the claim that crocheting is the best left-handed pitcher in today’s game. On his next turn, he will see attacks ranked as one of the worst of Southpaws and Southpaws since last year.
As already highlighted several times in this column, Seattle last died in 2024. Plus, they frequently punched out and struck 453 times with 1,564 ABS left-handed on the mound.
These struggles have not really improved this season. That’s not too surprising given that others didn’t add any bats to their lineup more attention than Rowdy Tellez. Similarly, they are currently hitting .227 against left-handed pitching, falling through 80 Ks in 247 at-bats. This is about one strikeout per 3 turns on the plate.
Crochet can be a feast, and it can be a determinant of eight heights. If he strictly limits M and goes deep into the ball game, it is a typical satisfying job from his counterpart, Brian Wu.
A lot has been done about the Mariners, who have the best pitching staff in all baseball. After all, their starters produced Team 3.38 ERA a year ago, leading all of Major League Baseball. It was pitching more innings than anyone else. Additionally, the Seattle Starters have ousted the most strikeouts in the American League rotation.
Woo is basically a secret weapon of the club. He was very underrated last season, but was suddenly blown away by being called the All-Star Snub despite having held a 1.77 ERA in July of the campaign. He continued to finish with an ERA 2.89, 0.90 whip and 0.211 batting average.
So the soul should not be shocked that this year’s Cal Poly product is a great start. Plus, he’s deep into the game. Wu pitched seven or deep in all four starts.
The Red Sox always presents difficult challenges at the plate, especially at home, for any pitcher, but the rest is caring for itself, with crochet pacing. We need Woo to keep doing exactly what he’s doing, or to manufacture something close to it.
