MANILA, Philippines – Micole Reyes confirmed that time to win LaSalle’s Ateneo is shining in the second round of the UAAP Season 87 Women’s Volleyball Tournament.
Reyes helped notch the Blue Eagles’ 25-21, 25-17, 25-20 sweep on Wednesday at Araneta Coliseum.
“What happened just now was maximizing the middle, it wasn’t just centered around the wings,” Reyes said.

Reyes finished with 19 excellent sets to attack LaSalle’s offensive onslaught more than Ateneo for his seventh victory of the season.
The Green Spyker’s wings performed most of the scoring, with Angel Canino and Shebanaraput finishing with 16 and 14 points respectively, but thanks to Reyes, everyone put their hands on the dominant victory.
Amie Provido finished with nine points, while Katrina Del Castillo and Alaliah Malaluan registered 8 and 7 respectively.
Coach Ramil de Jesus was certainly pleased with his setter going out.
“In fact, we want them to have confidence, so we give the setters time during training,” De Jesus said.

“You can’t gain that confidence in one game. You want them to have the right thinking and status on the floor, so today’s results were good,” added the veteran tactician.
But despite the victory, Reyes said there’s still more to improve as long as the season continues.
“As long as you have the game and you train, this isn’t finished yet, so I know there’s more to be done.”
Next up above La Salle is the University of East, at the same venue on Saturday.
