A new Reuters/Ipsos poll finds that one in three Democrats think Joe Biden should drop out of the presidential race, but his potential successor would not fare much better against Donald Trump.
Biden has come under pressure from Democratic donors and voters to drop out of the race after appearing weak in the first presidential debate last week.
And while they were shouting to get him out, the Resistance Virtual Match For Trump, the current No elected official can do a better job than Biden.
According to this latest poll, Biden and Trump’s approval ratings are split at 40%.
Vice President Kamala Harris is trailing President Trump by one point (42-43%), California Governor Gavin Newsom is trailing by three points (39-42%) and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer is trailing by five points (36-41%).

Who can win for him?
Of all the candidates presented to respondents in the new poll, only one is actually leading Trump — and by a large margin.
At least in this poll, Michelle Obama is beating Trump.
“Among prominent Democrats named by respondents, only Michelle Obama, wife of former Democratic President Barack Obama, outperformed Biden in the hypothetical matchup, leading Trump 50% to 39%,” Reuters writes.
That’s a big margin and should put the brakes on a bit for Republicans hoping to see President Biden exit the race.
Political strategist Roger Stone has argued for months that Democratic officials plan to use 25th Amendment arguments to remove Biden from office and instead field Michelle Obama to take on Trump.

Michelle Obama leads Trump in polls

Mrs. Obama has repeatedly denied that she plans to run for president in 2024.

“Just between us and the readers of this magazine, the chances are zero,” Mrs. Obama responded.
Adding to Obama’s lack of interest, Biden is reportedly insisting he plans to muster his remaining brain cells to campaign.
“Let me say this as clearly as I can, as simply as I can, as bluntly as I can: I’m running. Nobody’s trying to get rid of me. I’m not going away,” he said. During a campaign call“I intend to be in this race until the end and win.”
