Since teaming up with Disney, Marvel movies have taken pop culture by storm, and many people seem to have forgotten about Before Times. The Before Times is a world where the letters MCU probably had no meaning other than “local credit union.”
Marvel during the Disney era has embraced and incorporated certain superhero efforts from the past, such as the pre-MCU Spider-Man movies and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, but it has also embraced and adapted certain superhero efforts from the past, such as the pre-MCU Spider-Man movies and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, but it has also embraced and adapted certain older superhero endeavors that it seems okay to leave in the dust. There are also plenty of Marvel movies and TV shows.
One of Marvel’s favorite characters is seeing their entire cinematic history disappear into the modern generation. I’m here to do my best to prevent that from happening. This is why we need to save the Punisher movie.
The origin of the Punisher begins with Spider-Man.
The Punisher is a controversial characterlet me put that lightly. Oddly enough, he premiered amazing spiderman #129 Just 5 months before the release of the 1974 hit film death wish. The Punisher (real name Frank Castle) is a murderous vigilante waging a deadly war on crime in New York City.
After gaining incredible popularity with readers and its own comic book title, The Punisher hit the big screen in 1989 with its first feature film. That’s where the problem started.
The first Punisher movie was released in 1989 and starred Dolph Lundgren

1989’s punisher The film was produced by New World Pictures, a studio headed by the famously money-conscious Roger Corman. punisher Due to financial difficulties, New World was to be the penultimate film produced by New World. it also meant punisher was unable to secure theatrical distribution in the United States and settled for a direct-to-video release two years after its initial release in international markets.
Rocky IV star Dolph Lundgren has been cast as Frank Castle, and while I give due credit to Lundgren’s performance, it’s fair to say punisher It’s not his finest moment as an actor.

It doesn’t help that the Punisher’s iconic logo was removed from the costume in favor of a skull-themed throwing knife. Director Mark Goldblatt has openly regretted this decision, and I’m sure fans would agree.
For 80’s vigilante crime movies, punisher It’s not a bad time. The film has gained a cult following over the years, proving that the Punisher’s powers are still a hot topic in the movie world.
The Punisher returned with another movie in 2004

Frank Castle was called The Punisher again in 2004 and was a box office hit again. Following the big comic book movie boom brought on by Blade, X-Men, and Spider-Man, The Punisher is set to be another one of Marvel’s big-budget blockbusters. .
Until the movie flopped at the box office and finished in second place at the opening. Kill Bill: Volume 2. This is a shame, since The Punisher (2004) was a huge improvement over its predecessor. Thomas Jane was great as Frank Castle, taking great care in getting the character right, even returning to the character in a pirated short film eight years after the actual film.
punisher (2004), the character was inspired by Garth Ennis’ comic books, and the film maintains the comic book tone well. John Travolta as the villain is certainly not overpowering, but thanks to Thomas Jane’s portrayal and Jonathan Hensley’s solid direction, make the punisher (2004) is much better than its reputation suggests.
Unfortunately, two months before the Marvel movie was released. spiderman 2you’re pretty SOL.
Punisher: War Zone rebooted the character again in 2008

The Thomas Jane version failed at the box office and was rebooted four years later. Punisher: Warzone. It is here that the Punisher reaches his full form. because Punisher: Warzone is the best.
Taking further inspiration from Garth Ennis’ over-the-top take on the character, Punisher: Warzone Director Lexi Alexander intentionally wanted to inject more silliness and dark comedy into this project, and the movie is very good at that.
Dominic West, who plays the villain Jigsaw, plays the villain like he’s in an episode of a 60’s Batman show. That’s amazing. I could stare at him for days with that goofy accent and make-up.

That’s not to say that Ray Stevenson doesn’t do a great job making Frank Castle a very focused, minimalist production. He hits the tone so right for every moment, whether it’s a bit of dark comedy or a really emotional beat. It’s sad that Stevenson never had the chance to work with Frank Castle again, because he captures the dark fun of Frank Castle so well.
And any movie where a parkour gang gets blown up by missiles is a good era to me.

Sadly, Punisher: Warzone It was once again a fatal blow to the character at the box office, debuting in 8th place. Frank Castle couldn’t catch a break.
Parts of The Punisher movie have been erased and are no longer available for viewing

Here are three very different interpretations of the Punisher in movies. Each has its strengths and fans. But with all three movies left in the digital dust, finding and making new fans may be difficult.
At the time of this recording, Punisher: Warzone – I would argue that this movie is better than any MCU movie. We’ll have you talking in the comments – streaming only available on PlutoTV standard resolution. Otherwise, you’ll have to rent or buy the movie.

at least, Punisher: Warzone is available on most popular VOD services. punisher (2004) is available for rent or purchase only through the unnamed streaming service Fandango at Home. No other digital store in the US seems to carry this.
punisher (1989) is not available in digital stores at all. You’ll have to track down a physical copy or get a digital version in a way that would make Frank Castle look like a criminal.
Jon Bernthal’s Punisher is the only thing Marvel wants you to see

If you want to easily stream The Punisher, here’s what you can access: punisher TV series. Jon Bernthal has taken on the role of the Punisher, as Marvel is focusing on the MCU version of the character, and will likely be the only Punisher many young fans have seen in the movies.
Frankly, it sucks. One of the things that makes comic book characters so great is that different writers and artists offer new interpretations and creative approaches to long-standing characters and how they are portrayed. I don’t want to live in a world where only one version of Batman is recognized and celebrated. We want to bring as many different and unique stories and ideas to the spotlight as possible.
The same goes for The Punisher. All three of these movies deserve to be fans and could use more of them.
