In a shocking interview, sir jim ratcliffeManchester United’s 72-year-old minority owner heavily criticized the club, calling them: “Mediocre” And already “elite.”
Ratcliffe, who owns a 27.7% stake in the £1.3billion club, said United had “become mediocre” and “couldn’t be one of the best football clubs in the world”. He said the club had been “drifting for a long period of time, about 10 years”.
Petrochemical billionaire referred to club’s ‘very poor’ data analysis and Recruitment United cited “data analysis as still being in the last century” as a key issue compared to its rivals.
Ratcliffe said the club needed “the best recruitment in the world” to regain “elite status”.
A deal that looks like it cost £82m anthony and 70 million pounds Casemiro Ineos has been cited as an example of United’s flawed recruitment strategy. Mr Ratcliffe suggested the rebuild would “take many years”.
