Mama June: Family Crisis Celebrity Jessica Shannon and her girlfriend Cheyenne McCant recently made a surprise announcement: they told their fans that they are trying for a baby. It’s certainly an exciting development and a big step in their relationship.
No doubt there’s a lot to think about, like a bigger home and what the baby will require, but the first step needs to be taken to get things on track, and Jessica will need some help from those closest to her. Mama June: Family Crisis. And this is her sister, Pumpkin Shannon.
Jesse Needs Pumpkin’s Help on WEtv
In a recent episode Mama June: Family Crisis, Jessica “Chubs” Shannon has been sharing a little bit about her and Cheyenne McCant’s parenting journey, and the couple has already decided that Cheyenne will carry and deliver a baby.
Additionally, they say they would prefer to use a sperm donor they know, rather than someone anonymous, so they’ll know what the donor is like. Which leads to a big request they’re about to make of Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon Efird.
They hope she will accept her husband, Josh Efird, as a donor — if he agrees, of course. Without a doubt, he is the perfect candidate. They know he’s a great father, husband, and overall great person. Mama June: Family Crisis.
Plus, he’s good looking and already has four beautiful children with her, which is a plus. But of course, Jessica is nervous about proposing to Pumpkin – she’s already tried to do so once, but then he broke the bad news about his late sister, Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell.
Anna’s health was rapidly deteriorating, and Jessica felt it was too early to bring the matter up with Pumpkin. However, they soon discovered that Anna’s Ashes, hopefully A little showdown, and then maybe a chance for Jesse to talk to Pumpkin.

The hit reality show’s sixth season finale is scheduled for Friday, July 19, 2024, so that’s when Jessica will likely tell Pumpkin she’s having a baby and ask her and Josh for help. No doubt, this will leave “Mama P” feeling a bit overwhelmed.
And while she may be uncomfortable with Josh being the donor, she’ll likely be understanding and willing to work with him. In fact, in real time, they’ve probably already discussed this and Pumpkin has probably made her decision. So hopefully we’ll find out her answer before the end of this season.
