World champion Luke Littler endured less than par day when he struggled with another early exit, and Josh Lock secured the Player Championship 10 title on Tuesday.
The Warrington ace only hit a height of 97.82 as he went 6-4 to Scott Williams, who averaged 86 in the quarter-finals at Leicester.
Meanwhile, Locke defeated Williams 7-5 in the semi-finals, then defeated Cameron Menzies 8-4 in the first PDC title in 2025 and the final of Evert Ever Player Championship 1.
“It was probably my score throughout the day. I felt like there was a key checkout at the right time. As for the three darts for checkout, I was gratefully hitting a Ton Plus checkout,” Lock said after the victory.
“It feels absolutely amazing. I’m bothering them [PDC titles]. It’s fifth on the PDC Tour, but I still want to prove it in the majors.
“There’s a lot to craft a list. Being a species means nothing. It’s the person who plays in front of you. The darts game has gone through the roof. I’m not for money.
Littler beat Adam Lipscomb and Dimitri Van Den Berg on a 6-3 scoreline before succumbing to Boston Star Williams, who averaged 86 in the final 86, with Jim Williams 6-4 and Justin Hood 6-2.
Williams arrived at the final four of the Protoll tournament for the first time since 2023, but before seeing Williams 7-5 he bowed to Red Hot’s Josh Rock, who averaged a whopping 150 glorious checkouts, an average of 110.34 in a 6-1 demolition with Martin Schindler.
The Cameron Menzies were hit in the 1040s by slashing Raymond Van Barnebert 6-4 in the quarter-finals, and Scott defeated Michael Smith 7-5 to reach Tuesday’s final.
Stephen Bunting showed a glimpse of his best form ahead of his clash with Nathan Aspinel in Berlin on Thursday night in Premier League.
“The Bullet” averaged an astonishing 111.72, beating Mike De Decker in his fifth consecutive match. He shattered six of his eight doubles, earning 167 to achieve a 6-3 victory, but lost in the final eighth in a disappointing fashion to “Bully Boy” 6-1.
