Klay Thompson added 22 points while going 6-of-10 from beyond the arc in his debut with the Mavericks. Derek Lively II had 15 points and 11 rebounds, Kyrie Irving also had 15 points, and Jaden Hardy and PJ Washington each had 11 points in the win.

Julien Champagnie and Jeremy Sochan paced San Antonio with 18 points each. Victor Wembaneyama and Harrison Barnes each added 17 points. Wenbanyama added nine rebounds, but was 5-of-18 from the floor, including 1-of-8 from beyond the arc.
The Spurs led 22-20 after the first quarter, and took a 36-30 lead midway through the second quarter on Champagnie’s 3-pointer.
Lively’s dunk cut Dallas to 42 points, but the visitors responded with a 7-2 run, punctuated by an alli-woo playup by Sauchan with 1:16 left in the half.

San Antonio outscored the Mavericks 45.2 percent to 35.8 percent in the first half and led 49-47 at halftime.
Barnes led all scorers with 14 points before halftime, while Champagnie added 12 points for the Spurs. Doncic led Dallas with nine points in the first half.
The Mavericks came out strong to start the third quarter, going on a 16-4 run to take a 63-53 lead less than four minutes into the third quarter. Washington’s 3-pointer with 7:11 left extended the lead to 14 points.
San Antonio fought back to within 74-72 on a Keldon Johnson jumper with 3:40 left in the period, and Dallas fought back to hold an 87-80 lead going into the final period. –Field level media
