Lobster mac and cheese recipe – The rich, creamy cheese sauce that chokes classic macaroni with delicious lobster chunks won’t get better. Both elegant and comforting, perfect for a flashy date night.

I’m still processing all the passionate feedback from me Southern Baked Mac and Cheese Recipe. At one point, the site crashed due to heavy traffic. Honestly, I couldn’t be more ec. So I decided to do a luxurious spin with mac and cheese with lobster.

What’s the special reason for lobster mac and cheese?

Well, you spend more on fresh lobster tails than a bag of frozen shrimp, for example, but it’s worth splurge. It’s richer, sweeter, less “fish-like” than crab meat, so you’ll soon see what the hype is. It’s worth it to feel like a high-end chef when your family is raving about the results. 👩🏽‍🍳

Make a sauce

Cooking lobster

  • Bring it to a boil water – Bring a large amount of water to a boil. It is sufficient to cover the lobster with 3-4 inches.
  • Add lobster – Gently add lobster to the boiling water head. Cover the pot with a tightly fitted cover and return to boiling as soon as possible and start the timer. A 1½ pound lobster takes 7-8 minutes. Note: Add another 2-3 minutes per pound for each extra pound of lobster.

Making mac and cheese

Tips and tips

  1. If you can’t find fresh lobsters, or if you don’t want to send live lobsters to boiling water at home, Costco and other grocery stores will carry frozen lobster meat wrapped in a freezer section. Some supermarkets steam lobsters for a small fee or for free. Ask your local seafood counter.
  2. For this recipe, salted or salt-free butter works. However, if you are using salted butter, adjust the amount of salt you add along the way to avoid overloading it.
  3. Do you have cans of evaporated milk in your pantry? You can make it yourself so don’t sweat Evaporated milk At home, it’s actually very easy.

You can perfectly make this recipe first, so you always have a flashy dish on your sleeve and are ready when you need it. Skip the baking parts and store the dishes in the fridge or freezer. Thaw (if necessary) and bake when ready.

Prepare the lobster

  • Add water to a large pot about 3-4 inches deep enough to cover the entire lobster. Then slowly boil a pot of water (soaks quickly and boils).

  • Cook the pasta al dente according to the package instructions and drainage.

  • Add evaporated milk slowly little by little, adding half and half. They don’t want the mixture to form lumps. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until the mixture is slightly thicker.

  • Add seasonings, onion and garlic powder. Creole seasoningand cayenne pepper.
  • Simmer and gently simmer for about 2 minutes.

  • Stir in cheese (reserve ½ cup for toppings) and continue stirring until everything is melted and combined evenly and smooth. Adjust the salt and pepper to adjust the flavor.

  • Add pasta and lobster to the pan in cheese sauce and stir to incorporate evenly. Spread the lobster on top.

  • Transfer the pasta mixture from the bread to a lightly greased 2-quart baking dish. Next, top with the remaining cheese.

  • Bake at 375℉/190°C for about 20 minutes or until golden and foamy.

Tips and notes:

  • If you don’t have access to fresh lobsters, or if you don’t want to send live lobsters to boiling water at home, Costco and other grocery stores carry frozen lobster meat wrapped in a freezer section. Save time, but be authentic. There’s nothing beat fresh, juicy fresh seafood. Some supermarkets steam lobsters for a small fee or free fee. Ask your local seafood counter.
  • Sharp cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese and jack cheese are my top favorites. Alternatively, you can use Pepper Jack, Gouda, Fontina, and Gruyere.
  • If you are using salted butter, adjust the amount of salt you add along the way to avoid overloading it.
  • Do you have evaporated milk in your pantry? You can make it yourself so don’t sweat Evaporated milk At home, it’s very easy.
  • Do not use shelled bagged cheese. It is dry and does not melt smoothly. Cheese shredded blocks are much better.
  • If there are any leftovers, reheat in the microwave. Stir in a milk splash for moisture.
  • Freshly baked mac and cheese should not be covered in foil as it is steamed inside. The melted cheese is also stuck to the foil.
