Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher gave Manchester United an F grade in his mid-season report. The Premier League season is almost halfway through and clubs are currently preparing for a busy festive period. Carragher gave his former club Liverpool an A grade.

Carragher said he would have given Arne Slott’s side an A+ had they not dropped points at home to Nottingham Forest and Fulham. Forest, managed by former Wolves coach Nuno Espirito Santo, were awarded an A+ by Carragher for their impressive performance this season.

Liverpool currently lead the league with 39 points, with Chelsea and Arsenal close behind in second and third place with 35 and 33 points respectively. Defending champions Manchester City were given an E+ after losing six of their 17 matches.

Manchester United have fared very poorly this season and currently sit 13th in the league table. They sacked former manager Erik ten Hag midway through the season and brought in Ruben Amorim from Sporting CP. However, the Portuguese feels he is in a difficult situation even in the Premier League.

Carragher’s Premier League team results:

Liverpool – A

Chelsea – A-

Arsenal – C+

Nottingham Forest – A+

Manchester City – E+

Aston Villa – C+

Bournemouth – A

Fulham – B+

Brighton – B

Tottenham – C+

Brentford – B-

Newcastle – C

Manchester United – F

West Ham – E

Crystal Palace – C

Everton – D

Leicester City – C-

Ipswich Town – B

Wolves – D+

Southampton – D-

There is only a 4 point difference between Liverpool and Chelsea in the Premier League table.

Liverpool and Chelsea are just four points apart in the Premier League table, but the Reds still have a game in hand. The two are expected to clash for the title. Third-placed Arsenal are now six points behind the Merseyside club after extra time.

Carragher also spoke about Marcus Rashford’s repeated exclusion from the squad and opined that his future at the club was likely over. As for Manchester City, Carragher said they are in dire need of a rebuild ahead of the next campaign.
