MANILA, Philippines — Sabi Davison and PLDT are aiming to close the game after a five-set meltdown with Choco Mucho in Game 1 of the three-man PVL All-Filipino Quarterfinal Series on Saturday night.
The fast batsman appeared on his way to a straight set victory, but was unable to seal his contract with the Flying Titans, who fought behind Sisi Rondina.
“I think the aura of the dugout was more focused on the mental side of the game. We had two sets so it was a bit difficult to swallow in terms of opportunities that we needed to win,” said Davison after dropping 25 points and 19 excellent receptions with losses of 20-25, 19-25, 25-15, 25-20 and 18-16.

Akari had the luxury of preparing for a week, but the charger had to dig deeper into the incredible Gallery’s Tower highlighter.
“It was the endgame adjustments that helped nail this victory. We look forward to another tough outing against them in Game 2,” said Eli Soyud of the Philippines. Due to its impact on the floor, the charger held 21-25, 25-19, 20-25, 25-16, and 15-11 victories.
The High Riser was ahead after three sets, forcing him to find more ways to escape defeats that are close to the charger.
