Although British Lauren Price and American Star Claressa Shield are currently far apart in weight, both focus on future Superfights.
Previously an uncontroversial champion of super welter and middleweights, the Shields are an uncontroversial heavyweight champion of women’s boxing.
Current prices are set to the undisputed title Clash with WBO belt holder Mikaela Mayer with a unified WBC, WBA and IBF Welterweight World Champion.
However, Price and Shield are both middleweight Olympic gold medalists, and are up twice in the American incident, both of whom will enjoy clashes as professional boxers.
“No doubt,” Price said. Sky Sports News. “My full focus is on £147 at the moment, making it incontroversial, but it is definitely a battle of battle.
“I want to share the ring with her. It’s obviously an Olympic champion. Double Olympic champion, I’m an Olympic champion. That’s a great fight. Definitely.”
Shields was called Price Out. “I want to fight everyone,” she said. Sky Sports. “There’s a new blood in the scene. I’ve seen the battle for Lauren Price. I was amazing, pretty impressive. It was pretty impressive.
“[154lbs] That’s the lowest I can get. If she wants to fight for 160 pounds, don’t be afraid to get a burger and get up. ”
“We can prove who is the best Olympic champion.”
Shield said before Sky Sports: “It’s hard to put anything past the Olympic champion. She won the Olympics in 2021.
“When you’re all over the world and you win a world championship in a box, it feels like you’re destined to do great things professionally. I wish her good luck.
“She won the Olympics at 165 pounds, just like me – twice – and if she wants to fight, I want to fight her too,” Shields added.
“I believe anything is possible and I really want to fight someone who wants to fight me. So if Lauren Price keeps winning and reaches 154 pounds with 160, 168, we can prove who is the best Olympic champion.”
