Korean Medical Imaging AI Company Secures Supply Contracts in Germany

The German population-wide cancer screening program taps support from South Korea’s medical imaging AI providers.

Registered with Kosdaq, Lunit recently signed a five-year partnership with the Private Radiology Network Starvision Service to deploy several medical imaging AI solutions to 79 sites. These include software applications for analyzing breast, breast and fracture images.

An early rollout is underway, with an AI-powered mammography analysis solution implemented in Radiologische Allianz supporting the Hamburg breast cancer screening program.

Another Korean exchange-owned company, Coreline Soft, recently signed an agreement to provide AI-driven lung cancer screening software to 1,300-bed university hospital Bonn.

The same solution (called Aview LCS) was reported last week Added to Bayer’s Calantic Marketplace, a medical imaging AI tool.

Coreline Soft has also been the exclusive technology partner of Hanse, the national lung cancer screening research in northern Germany since 2022.

Why is it important?

Germany is a quarter of the European medical device market, ranking fourth in the world, following the US, China and Japan.

“While Germany, which leads the European healthcare sector, is actively working to adopt AI technology, our products are constantly expanding to major hospitals…” said Kim Jin-Kook, Soft CEO of Coreline. The company has so far partnered with six major hospitals in the country, including university hospital Heidelberg.

Coreline Soft operates supply transactions with hospitals in France, Spain, Switzerland and Austria. Recently, it has focused on solidifying its presence in France, Italy and the UK as a whole.
