Reporters on the scene observed that the turnout for the Harris-Waltz Michigan rally was the largest at a Democratic campaign event since 2016.
Here are some photos of the crowd:

J.D. Vance is estimated to have drawn a crowd of several hundred. 30 miles from Detroit Harris and Walz have already spoken to a crowd of 12,000 in Wisconsin.
Comparisons to the Obama 2008 campaign should not be made lightly, but there is a special energy building in the Harris campaign that Donald Trump and his running mate cannot match, and, almost as importantly for the Republican Party, Trump seems unwilling to challenge.
If Harris and Waltz bring this to the Midwest, Trump and the Republican Party could be in big trouble.
Only by gathering a crowd with this kind of energy can we win a landslide election.
