Kamala Harris cracked open a beer with late-night comedian Stephen Colbert on Tuesday as Florida residents evacuated en masse ahead of Hurricane Milton’s landfall.
The Democratic presidential candidate, who has always shown an uncanny ability to be tone-deaf, showed little confidence beyond a vague focus on impending natural disasters.
“I think the election will be determined by the atmosphere,” Colbert told his guests. “Because they just want someone to have a beer with. So…would you like to have a beer with me to show people what it’s like?”
Mr. Harris famously chuckled and replied, “The last time I had a beer was at a baseball game with Doug.”
It was as disgusting as you can imagine.
Kamala Harris throws back beer as Floridians flee hurricane
Kamala Harris’ beer stunt is an obvious attempt to make her seem relatable. It would be even more sympathetic if she were hunkered down in the White House, taking the lead in informing the nation about a massive hurricane heading toward Florida.
But right now, Florida State doesn’t have much of an advantage. Trump has a significant lead, 538 total votesmaybe she just knows the electoral map. Similarly, she doesn’t seem too concerned about the victims of Hurricane Helen in North Carolina or Georgia.
So while she’s pouring Miller High Life (and by pouring, I mean pretending to take a sip) residents of the Sunshine State are fleeing to safety. And they are facing problems.
Milton, storm monster A combination of size and strength perhaps never seen before is looming over the Tampa Bay area as we speak.
A new report says people trying to flee the area are facing a massive gas shortage.
“With traffic backed up on Interstate 75 out of Tampa and Orlando, several gas stations in the area were running low on gas and it was unclear when new fuel would arrive.” Fox Business Report. This report is corroborated by Florida resident Chris Kane, who says the highways are congested. he was trying to find fuel to get to a safe inland port.
CNN reports that there are nearly 1,500 gas stations in Florida. Out of fuelcreating significant problems for those trying to evacuate and even for those who remain hoping to use generators to provide power when the storm passes.
CBS provides similar numbers, noting that a whopping 21% of Florida gas stations are running dry.
The biggest shortages appear to be in inland areas. Gainesville and Orlando face much larger shortages than, say, Miami or Jacksonville.
Meanwhile, Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said:“There is no shortage of fuel. Fuel continues to arrive in Florida.”

She lectures Florida residents on misinformation
For Floridians, it’s definitely comforting to see Kamala Harris appearing on a comedian’s newly launched talk show, drinking beer and giggling like a schoolgirl as the state races for fuel. It will be.
It definitely makes me more confident. But don’t worry, as the hurricane threatens to wreak havoc in the Tampa area, she’s cracking down on something important: misinformation.
Yes, Kamala Harris and her beer want us to stop listening to misinformation about disasters, especially the government’s incompetent response to the last hurricane and the ongoing devastation.
“First, North Carolinians and Georgians, please know that the FEMA people on the ground are there to help you, and you have a right to it,” she said. “I have a lot of information, so please, don’t ask.”
Florida residents rest assured the government will help them pick up the pieces, even if she’s having beers with entitled Hollywood friends while trying to escape the hurricane’s path can.
