“A federal judge ordered the administration to use wartime power laws on Saturday to ban President Donald Trump from using wartime power laws to force members of Venezuelan gangs without a hearing and to turn around planes that had already taken off after the alien enemies were quietly enforced.” Washington Post Report.
“Trump signed the declaration on Friday to deploy alien enemy law for the first time since World War II, quickly eliminating Venezuelans allegedly involved in a cross-border gang known as Tren de Aragua, which has only been used three times to ban citizens of hostile enemy governments from the United States.
Wall Street Journal: “During the emergency court hearing, US District Judge James Boasberg said he had not reached a final conclusion on whether alien enemy Trump calls were legal. However, he said a temporary restraining order that will take effect for 14 days would maintain the status quo until you can hear more fully the discussion.”
