Veteran journalist and former Raja Sabha MP Kumar Ketokal has been appointed recipient of the Anant Dixit Memorial Award, while acclaimed cartoonist Arok Nirantar will be awarded the Mohan Maskar Award, established by the Anant Dixit Memorial Committee. The award will feature £51,000 and £21,000, respectively, along with commemorative mementos.
Founded by colleagues and admirers of the late Anant Dikshit, a respected Marathi editor known for his socially conscious and inspiring writing, the award celebrates his remarkable contributions to journalism. Meanwhile, the Mohan Maskar Award honors the memory of a promising young journalist who has been praised for his work in rural reporting in Maharashtra. Maskar’s early ending has left a huge gap in the field, and the award is about to inspire and acknowledge new journalistic talent.
