Gabby Thomas had an incredible year in 2024, winning three Olympic gold medals. Now, as she prepares for a new season, the Americans gave a surprising revelation when they discussed the venue for Michael Johnson’s Grand Slam Track.
Johnson is highly regarded as one of the greatest sprinters of all time and launched GST last year, a kind of track league. The league will host four tournaments, with the first competition in Kingston, Jamaica, and the tournaments in Los Angeles, Miami and Philadelphia.
Gabby Thomas signed with Grand Slam Track late last year and was recently ranked in league locations. In an Instagram video, she revealed that she is most excited to compete in Jamaica.
“I’m most excited about Kingston. I’m really excited. I’ve never competed in Jamaica before.”
She then ranked the remaining three locations.
“(Second) Miami, I love Miami. (And) Philadelphia, I love Franklin Field, so it’s close to my heart and important, so that’s where I ran in college and then we have LA. LA is cool.”
Gabby Thomas joins the Grand Slam Track

Gabby Thomas signed Michael Johnson’s Grand Slam Track in November 2024. The Americans clarified the excitement of the league through a press release, highlighting their enthusiasm to compete with the best sprinters.
“I’m very excited to join the Grand Slam Track and partner with Michael Johnson to give us the right platform for our sport. Away from the Olympics, I want to continue testing myself and continue to compete at the highest level with the fastest women in the world. Grand Slam Track will allow me that opportunity in 2025.”
Thomas continued to praise Johnson’s vision.
“Michael’s vision is extremely exciting and we can’t wait for millions of track fans around the world to see us compete. We look forward to seeing all of our fans at the four slams next year.”
Thomas could potentially compete in GST’s short sprint event group. This features 100m and 200m races. Outside Gabby Thomas, other stars who signed the Grand Slam Track include Sidney McLaughlin Levrone, Fred Carly, Kenny Bednarek and Cole Hocker.
The first Grand Slam Track tournament is scheduled to take place between April 4th and 6th at National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica. The event will be streamed live on Peacock and broadcasts will be available on the CW.
