In the final episode of “Knowledgeable Youth”, Ukrainian students from the Free People Educational Center in Vienna reflect on what future they envision for themselves and the world. Their conversation is inspired by Lukasz Becht’s article “Children of the 21st Century” and delves into the vision of the future of Polish youth around the 1960s. The students discuss how they see themselves after high school and what their impressions of life in Austria and Vienna have been so far.

Children of the 21st century
Young people, culturally linked to the future, seem increasingly troubled by uncertainty and crisis. Can we see into the future from past transitions? In 1960s Poland, young people’s “future-oriented” outlook revealed the micro-social contradictions of technological progress and exposed the cracks in mass communist ideology.
