
In an influential new series with Katty Kay, actress and model Brooke Shields opens up nearly 60 years in the spotlight and how she ultimately overcomes her fraud syndrome.

Shields acknowledges that she continues to remain in sight for much of her life, but she has the privilege of seeing Hollywood focus on eternal youth.
“It’s definitely very American. I think you’ll go to Europe. I’m not that sure about the UK, but definitely in Italy and France – there’s a respect and respect for beauty, mature beauty. ” she says. “We don’t – we don’t understand that yet. I hope it’s a bit different. I want to contribute to it.”

She calls it unrestricted, release of aging. Hollywood has been more welcoming women of certain ages, but take a look at the recent renaissance of Demi Moore, Martha Stewart and Jennifer Coolidge – Shields is no longer arguing about things like child and career pressure. “I think there is freedom and so many different factors in it, so when you dig into them, you’re wondering why this is the best thing in our lives in a way that focuses solely on us. I understand,” she says. “It’s not our biological clock, it’s not social pressure, it’s not all of these things we run.

Shields’ career since the 90s has been characterized by intensive diversification. We explore ways to find success away from her appearance. Her resume includes Broadway stints at shows such as Chicago, Cabaret and Grease, as well as her television and film productions. Shields says this self-reflection allows her to feel that she can finally rub her shoulders with her peers. The fraud syndrome that had been looming in the spotlight for many years evaporated.
“Everything I’ve done, seen, grown and learned gives these people in these rooms an opportunity to be unthreatened. I can admire them and respect them. And you can love their talents,” Shields says. “I can do good enough. I’m just as good [whomever] It used to hold onto the pedestal. ”
