for Isaac Sultan Cohenart collecting has always been more than just a hobby. In his world, art collecting is an emotional pursuit to which he is closely connected, reflecting his passion for modern and contemporary art. Sultan Cohen is based in Miami, a city known worldwide for its colorful art scene, and hosts the internationally renowned Art Basel fair, making it a focal point of the city’s cultural landscape. His unique approach to collecting stands in contrast to many of the profit-driven approaches prevalent in today’s art world. Sultan Cohen’s collection is rooted in a passion for art, not financial gain. “Even if you get the price wrong, what really matters is whether it’s the right item,” he says.

Sultan Cohen began his journey into the art world early in life, inheriting his uncle’s collection, which included world-famous works and influential contemporary artists. This was the basis of his passion. “When I was first introduced to my uncle’s collection, it was like opening a window to a whole new world,” Sultan Cohen recalls. “Those early experiences shaped my view of art today, which enriches my life, inspires me to think deeply, and evokes my deepest emotions.”

People who collect art are often motivated by profit, but Sultan Cohen doesn’t care about financial gain. His philosophy is very simple and clear. If you collect what you like, you don’t have to worry about reviews. “I didn’t get involved in the art world to make headlines with big sales or successfully speculate about new artists. I don’t consider myself an art investor. ” says Sultan Cohen frankly. “I buy famous works in the art world because they have intrinsic value to me. I can’t explain the excitement I get when I get a masterpiece.”For Sultan Cohen, art It is clear that purchasing a work is much more than just a transaction.

Isaac Sultan Cohen’s appreciation for masterpieces can be seen through the works he has collected over the years. His extensive collection includes works by some of the most iconic artists of the 20th and 21st centuries, including Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Anish Kapoor. Each work represents a milestone in modern art history and was carefully selected as a result of both the central role and emotional connection each artist plays in the contemporary art world. “My rule of thumb when collecting is to focus only on well-known names,” explains Sultan Cohen. Explaining why, he continues: “Not because of their market value or art market trends, but because of the legacy they left behind. True collectors will understand what I mean.”

Based in Miami, Sultan Cohen reflects both the city’s character and its unique place in the art world. Known as a hub for the arts, the city’s artworks are a blend of traditional and modern art forms. “Miami is an amazing city. One of my favorite aspects of the city is the fusion of influences, from Latin American modernists to the multiple contemporary art installations that are almost always on display for art lovers. where we are,” says Sultan Cohen. “The art scene here is very exciting.”

For art lovers looking to start their own collection, Sultan Cohen offers some advice based on his own personal journey. “Don’t be blinded by the potential for profit. Collect what moves you,” he advises. “Don’t worry about whether your work will go up or down in value. What matters is your connection. Trust your instincts, trust your heart. The same goes for work. Do what you love. I’ll never have to work a day in my life.”
