Three new species of the genus Scorpiops Peters (Scorpiones: Scorpiopidae) from Tibet, China (1861) and the impact of their qualitative characters on the diagnostic value
Abstract
Three new species in the genus Scorpiops Peters, 1861, was reported to have been found in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China. S. Deshpande SynonymsIt is described based on an adult male and juvenile pair collected in Medog county, Nyingtri prefecture, and its validity is substantiated by additional molecular evidence. S. longimanus Pocock, 1893. S. Kovaliki Genus noun The species is characterized by a single adult female of the Zayü. S. Jendek Kovařík, 1994 However, the empirical understanding of morphological variation Scorpiops Species motivated us to think of them as separate entities. S. Mathewi Genus noun The species is based on three adult females collected from Shigaze.S. Rufus Lv & Di, 2023). S. Margherison Kovařík, 2000 was obtained from the Nyemo in Lhasa, S. Wrzecionkoy Kovařík, 2020. A new term, “ocular island,” has been introduced to describe the periocular morphology. Scorpiops The mesophthalmos are classified into four preliminary types.
