Virat Kohli introduced his preferences through Pakistan at the ICC tournament. A glittering, unbeaten 100 of batting icons insisted that India would seal the semi-final spot with the Champions Trophy here on Sunday, claiming India’s prestigious six-wicket victory over their traditional rivals.
The victory must be enough to make the final four for India, currently on top of Group A with 4 points. However, Pakistan has been eliminated early from the eight-team event after a second consecutive loss.

Again they come across their old nemesis, Kohli. The 36-year-old tame some of his own demons – lean run, repeated forms of fire and struggle against spin.
But he killed each of them in a way worthy of a batsman who became the fastest 14,000 ODI runs in the process of knocking.

Indian sports landscape moves from participation to victory: Vijay Amritraj
In discussions with K Venugopal, chairman of Kasturi & Sons Ltd, at the CII meeting at Mystic South, Amritraj said that Indian sports had reached a turning point.
However, Kohli drove them with Elan and the Pakistani Prime Minister Pacers were disappointed after the early height of Afridi Rohit Sharma (15 to 20 balls) along with the yoker peach. He plunged them boldly as he transformed.
Perhaps the greatest hope Pakistan had for Kohli was leg spinner Abral Ahmed, given India’s recent tragedy over England’s Adil Rashid.
Kohli had some tough moments against Ahmed, but not big enough to torment him. He dealt with him mostly with singles and reduced risk.
However, Pakistan’s Quicks offered him plenty of chance to release his arm.

Shakeel (62, 76b, 5×4) is largely in no traffic and along with skipper Mohammad Rizwan (46) added 104 runs in the third wicket, but Pakistan actually shackle after choosing the bat I couldn’t break it.
As the match entered the middle aisle, the pitch grew slowly and the accuracy of the Indian bowler allowed left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav to lead the way and run (3/40) .

There was a time in the Pakistani innings when both Rizwan and Shekel were unable to find the boundary rope for 55 consecutive deliveries.
They were forced to cross the careful path for the early departure of Babar Azam (23) and Imam (10).
Azam saw the million dollars while playing some of the trademark cover drives of Harshit Rana and Hardik Pandya.
But the desire to drive also brought his destiny. Pandya was immediately driven for four and then quickly pulled back the length, and Azam’s full throttle shot took the lead over KL Rahul’s big gloves.
Soon, the imam took off for a non-existent single, and on the way, axar Patel had to hit a stump.
Pakistan, the two of them, were 47 years old, disconnected the task in a high pressure match, but Rizwan and Shekel brought some stability to the innings with a composed knock.
India had some worrying points at this stage as veteran pacer Mohammed Shami and skipper Rohit Sharma had to leave the field for a while.
Shami had to tend to his shins while she felt uncomfortable mainly due to the heat here. However, they both returned to the field to ease concerns.
Rizwan’s adventurous shimmy saw him lose his stump on track with Aqua and then Pakistan went downwards spiral.

Indian superstar Virat Kohli created history on Sunday. He became the fastest batter to score 14,000 runs in the International day, surpassing the previous record of legendary Sachin Tendulkar during the Champions Trophy clash with Pakistan here.
Kohli scored 14,000 runs in the third batter of ODI cricket after legendary Indian Sachin Tendulkar (18,246 runs) and Sri Lanka Kumar Sangakkara (14,234 runs).
Kohli is the fastest for the milestone as he completed 14,000 ODI runs in 287 innings. Before him, Tendulkar reached the feat by winning 350 innings, but Sangakkara went out for 378.
Coincidentally, both Kohli and Tendulkar recorded 14,000 ODI runs against Pakistan. India No. 3 only needed 15 runs to reach the milestone on Sunday. He did it via 4 from Harrislauf’s cover on the 13th of the run chase.
