This is happening because Fox owns Tubi. This is the first time the Super Bowl has been streamed for free along with traditional over-the-air antenna broadcasts. Tubi is a low-end service that does not have multiple screens or DVR functions. Also, simply display the game on a low-end 720p HDTV.

The Super Bowl LIX, scheduled for today, will air from Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. Chubi shows more than a big game where defending champions Kansas City Chiefs compete with the Philadelphia Eagles’ rise. From 3:30pm ET, fans can tune into the special pre-match show “Super Bowl Ricks’ Chubi Red Carpet,” hosted by Olivia Culpo.

For Chubi NFL Channel. The station will begin its “countdown to the Super Bowl” on January 28th and hope to immerse yourself in the Super Bowl vibe. This brings a range of content to the scene, including historic Super Bowl footage, iconic halftime shows, and NFL analysis, providing fans with a comprehensive lead into the main event.
Why is Fox doing this? It is part of Fox’s broader strategy to promote Tubi, and has seen significant growth since Fox acquired it in 2020. With 97 million active users every month, Chubi has become the second most popular free streaming Application after the Roku channel. By offering the Super Bowl, Fox aims to further expand the reach of Tubi and appeal to a younger cordcut audience.
Beyond the Super Bowl, Tubi has one of the largest video libraries for free streaming services, with over 45,000 titles. On top of that are the library films of Lionsgate, MGM, Paramount Pictures and Starz Digital. Included in recent popular selections Anna, The star fell to Alabama, Queen of Hearts, And everything Twilight movie. It also offers 250 Live Channels.

Tubi doesn’t have any major live channels, so it can’t be used as an alternative to YouTube TV, but there are lesser known channels and channel options. Carol Barnet Show, Midsomer’s Murderand my favourite: Mystery Science Fiction 3000.
If I recommend you, if you register, you can resume play from where you stopped to put your cat in or grab a snack. For free services that often have no control over the stream, that’s a great advantage.
