Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.) introduced articles of impeachment against Vice President Kamala Harris, the presumptive Democratic nominee.
Senator Ogles Impeach Harris Vice President Harris was slammed for not visiting the southern border: “Kamala Devi Harris has demonstrated extraordinary incompetence in the discharge of her duties and responsibilities, adamantly refusing to comply with existing immigration laws, and demonstrative indifference to the American people who are suffering as a result of the ongoing crisis on our southern border. With the exception of one visit hundreds of miles from the epicenter of the migration crisis, VP Harris has consistently refused to visit the southern border to assess the ongoing national crisis.”
Ogles’ article of impeachment alleges that Harris committed high crimes and misdemeanors by failing to comply with the nation’s immigration laws.
If all this resonates with you, it should.
This is the same tactic House Republicans tried when they tried to impeach Secretary of State Mayorkas, whose bill of impeachment was consigned to the Senate trash can after the Senate discovered the House had sent down articles of impeachment that did not include any impeachable offenses.
The articles of impeachment against VP Harris are a brazen abuse of power, but if House Republicans are desperate, I wouldn’t be surprised if they make a serious effort to impeach Harris.
The vice president is unknown to most Americans, and both parties are competing to define her.
Donald Trump has no leverage against Kamala Harris, and House Republicans are desperate to give him something to argue with.
