House Democrat leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-ny) gasses what appears to be a democratic advantage when Donald Trump and House Republicans crash the economy and go home.
Jeffries’ videos:
Jeffries opened a press conference on Monday:
Donald Trump and House Republicans spent everything they had last year, promising to cut down on the costs of living in America, fled Project 2025, pretending they didn’t exist. They consistently lied to the American people, and now Americans feel the consequences of this extreme administration, this Trump administration, this extreme President Donald Trump, and these extreme Maga Republicans who are in the temporary majority in the House.
This year, Republicans did not do anything, not just one, to cut costs of living in the United States.
The cost of living is too high. The housing costs are too high. The cost of groceries is too high. Insurance costs are too high. The utility costs are too high. Childcare costs are too high. America is too expensive, and Democrats continue to commit themselves to cutting down the high cost of living in the United States instead. The costs have not been reduced. They’re up. Inflation is rising. Donald Trump and the Republicans are actually crashing the economy in real time. This cannot be compensated for. They are intentionally inflicting pain on Americans.
Jeffries is correct on all counts, but let’s take a little deeper and see if we can get insight into the possibility that the majority of GOP Houses could become temporary.
