Recently, I shared my Lychee Chow recipe and it was an instant hit among my fans and those who stumbled upon my little space on the internet.ChowEvery “Apple Chow” recipe I’ve shared has its own unique characteristics based on the main ingredient used, but over the years I’ve found that Apple Chow is my favorite.
You will need…
2 lemons (juice)
1 lime (juice)
4-6 garlic cloves (It was crushed)
2-3 habanero peppers (thin slices – adjust accordingly)
Chado Beni Leaf 4 sheets (thin slices)
7-8 small apples (Crunchy)
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 to 3/4 cup water

If you can’t get hold of a chadon beni (Culantro), you can use 2 tablespoons of finely chopped coriander (coriander)If you are making this dish gluten free, please check the full list of ingredients to ensure it meets your gluten free dietary requirements.
Squeeze the lemons and limes into a large bowl and add the garlic and Scotch bonnet peppers. Remember to wear gloves when handling these hot peppers and to wash your hands with soap and water immediately afterwards.
As explained in the video, if you start this way, you can add apple pieces without discoloring the mixture. Add chopped chardonnay. (Culantro) The same is true at this point.
Add peeled and chopped apples (various Crispy apple Soft apples will have a strange texture. Stir to incorporate juices in bowl.
Once all the apple pieces have been added, sprinkle on some salt and black pepper.
At this point, pour water directly onto the area where you added the salt, this will help the salt dissolve.
Stir well and marinate in the refrigerator (or what is called “soaking”) in 30 minutes.
You can store it in the fridge for a few days, but don’t worry it will be gone before then. Just save the liquid and add a few more apples if you want. This is one of my favorite snacks, especially on a hot summer day in the backyard with a cold drink in hand. Important! It’s very painful.
