Yesterday’s Gran Turismo 7 Game Update 1.49 All-new physics have been introduced, adding realism and improving gameplay overall, but the changes also introduce some strange issues in certain situations, causing cars to bounce wildly or even be thrown into the air.
According to the developer, the physics update has been generally well-received, adding “more natural cornering physics and acceleration/deceleration stability levels.” Similar changes to tire physics and steering make for an overall more challenging and rewarding driving experience.
But it seems some bugs have crept in too. gt planet Reddit post r/GranTurismoMultiple (hilarious) videos show high-horsepower vehicles with swapped engines and extreme suspension setups literally flying, bouncing, and crossing the ground.
The issue seems to occur when a car tries to accelerate from a low speed, primarily affecting AI-controlled cars, and also occurs during dynamic “Scapes Movie” scenes designed to show scenery from a car being driven at low speed by the AI. It has also been seen in GT Auto’s garage.
This is clearly a weird Z-axis programming bug, but the Gran Turismo team is aware of the issue and is working on a fix. “With the 1.49 update released on July 25th, we are aware of the following issue: Car physics simulation – Unintended vehicle behavior occurs when certain car settings are configured in Car Settings,” the developers said in a statement. Post to XThe fix should be complete soon, so enjoy this comedy while it lasts.
