Google I/O Keynote took place on Tuesday, and the company took the stage to unveil new features in all its product products. Of course, this included AI upgrades for applications that millions of users rely on every day, such as Google Docs, Meet, Slide, Gmail, Vids, and more, which millions of users rely on every day to complete their work.

The features announced this year focus on practicality. They embed it in the Google apps they use every day by performing boring and time-consuming tasks like clean-outing their inbox.
Gmail: Gemini can clean your inbox
Everyone can be involved in being bombarded with email. Often, these messages are marketing or spam, making it difficult to get to what you actually need to read. Now, with the new Inbox Cleanup feature, users simply ask Gemini to clean their inbox. For example, Google shares that it can say “Delete all my unread emails from well-maintained feet since last year,” and Gemini takes care of it in seconds.

AI-generated email replies have become quite standard since the popularity of generated AI exploded. However, the generated responses often lack the context of the most valuable possible.
Gmail’s personalized smart reply aims to draft past emails and emails pulling from the context of Google Drive, and tackle the issue to match the tone. This will improve the relevance and usefulness of emails generated to AI, allowing you to be honest about how they usually sound and save you time digging for additional context.
Finally, Google makes it easy to book appointments with someone outside your organization. Although the calendar doesn’t have visibility, the fast booking scheduling feature integrated with Gmail automatically suggests when a customer or client wants to book, detects when they are about to schedule a meeting, and shares the booking page.

A unique aspect of this feature is that it also preserves the voice, tone and expression of the speaker. The demo shown had very low latency and high accuracy.

This feature will be available in the lab in the next quarter. Gemini will also help you adjust your sound via single clicks via the balanced sound feature available next month.
Finally, if you don’t have the budget or time to film a video spokesman, Google is launching an AI avatar with VIDS. This feature allows you to select your avatar, feed scripts, and have them create sophisticated videos. This feature will be coming to the lab next month.
Perhaps the biggest VIDS announcement is that VIDS is available to consumer AI subscribers, previously limited to enterprise plans.
