Gilas Pilipinas’ youth team will appear in action this weekend in the FIBA U16 Asian Cup Seababybaiba qualifiers in Pampanga, with the Young Nationals and their coaching staff aiming for more than just a place in the Continental Showcase.
Guided by the Brain Trust, made up of Barangay Ginebra and former national men’s team Ra Tenorio, Gabe Norwood and Richard Del Rosario, Gilas Youth focuses not only on winning, but also on building developmental paths that are closely tailored to the advanced program.
“We still have a lot to do, but our team is excited to play on the home court,” said Tenorio ahead of the event at the Bren Z. Giao Convention Center in San Fernando.
Friday afternoon Summerhan Basketball Ng Pilipinas announced the final roster of 12 sets, competing for one of the two slots at the Asian Cup later this year.
