Gift Nifty is trading 10 points higher at 24,734.00 as of 7:18 a.m. Monday. As trading begins today, the stock prices of Paytm’s parent companies One97 Communications Ltd., Godrej Consumer Ltd. and JSW Energy Ltd. will remain in the spotlight due to news flows.

NSE Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex ended Friday’s trade with modest losses as HDFC Bank and Reliance Industries stock prices fell.

Nifty ended 30.62 points or 0.12% lower at 24,677.80 and Sensex ended 56.74 points or 0.07% lower at 81,709.12.

The index plunged after the Reserve Bank of India maintained its neutral stance by keeping the repo rate unchanged at 6.5%. The central bank lowered its GDP forecast for this year, but raised its inflation forecast.

Nifty recorded its highest weekly gain since June 7. It rose 2.27% in the week ending December 6th. In the week ended December 6, the Sensex rose 2.39%.

Foreign investors turned net sellers of Indian stocks on Friday after three consecutive days of buying, while domestic institutional investors turned net buyers after three consecutive days of selling.

Foreign portfolio investors sold shares worth Rs 1,830.30 crore, the highest amount sold by an FPI so far this month. DII bought shares worth Rs 1,659.10 crore, according to provisional data from NSE.
