Asia Pacific Leaders to Invest in genAI: Report
Asia Pacific will see increased investment in generative AI technologies in the coming years.
In the ninth edition of Royal Philips’ Future Health Index report, more than six in 10 APAC leaders surveyed said they plan to invest in genAI over the next three years, with almost 40% of leaders currently already investing in the technology.
While there is great excitement about the potential of healthcare AI, nearly all leaders surveyed in the region said they were very concerned that “data bias in AI applications will widen disparities in health outcomes.”
To mitigate risks, leaders aim to increase AI transparency, ensure diversity in data and AI use, provide ongoing AI training and education, and implement policies on the ethical use of data and AI.
Amazon’s genAI hires new medical coders in South Korea
J&P Medi, a South Korean clinical data solutions provider, has launched a new generative AI-driven medical coder on its cloud-based clinical trial data management platform.
Maven Coder Express is built using the Amazon Bedrock genAI service on Amazon Web Services, which automates data ingestion, retrieval, prompt enhancement, and citation.
It runs on three AI models – Anthropic’s Claude 3.5 Sonnet, Claude 3 Haiku, and Amazon Titan Text Embedding v2 – and supports 13 languages, including Korean, English, German, Japanese, and Chinese.

Bayada Korea partners with Kakao Healthcare to launch digital diabetes service
Kakao Healthcare, Kakao’s digital health division, recently partnered with Bayada Home Healthcare to improve patients’ ability to manage their health at home.
According to a press release, the company plans to leverage Kakao Healthcare’s AI-driven digital diabetes management services to set up online and offline consultation channels. Pasta.
