Why did you attend the University of Michigan?:
“I chose the University of Michigan because they are one of the schools that develops tight ends. (Steve) Kasura “I feel comfortable that he’s going to develop me for the next level. They have tight ends, so I’ll have to compete for the position, but if I give it my all and perform well, it’s one of those schools where I have a chance to play early on. For example, they’re putting tight ends on the field.” Colston LovelandHe played as a freshman, so to see that and know he’s going to be selected in the first round or a highly-valued round (which is important in the NFL Draft), that’s just motivation to go out there.”
On his relationship with Michigan coaches and players:
“So it’s not just (Coach Casula and Colston Loveland) that I talk to. Sherron Moore, Max Bredeson One of the tight ends (who I spoke to). Marlin Klein (Another tight end) I have their phone numbers and everything. I feel like they’re a second family. I can text them anytime and I know they’ll give me a quick and honest response. They’re really good people and I can relate to them a lot. That’s one of the reasons I love Michigan and the people there. I love being with them.”
What changes have been made to the coaching staff and roster since Michigan won its national championship in the 2023-2024 season?:
“We got a lot of draft picks, so I think (the change) has been pretty good. We’re going to continue to get more draft picks out of Michigan. It’s just that our players are going to be really good. Coach Moore stepped up when we needed him (as interim head coach for 2023) against Penn State. I think he took over and did his job and the team continued to win after Coach (Jim) Harbaugh left, so I think that’s a good thing. I think the coaching staff (Moore) has brought in is great. I think he’s going to continue to win.”
