Dr. VK Vijayakumar, chief investment strategist at Geojit Investments, noted, “FII, which was the seller for the first three months of 2025, sold Rs 116,574 of capital during this period, and converted the buyer to Rs 4,243 trillion purchases in April.”
He said the buying momentum was further accelerated in May, driven by easing geopolitical tensions and stabilizing macroeconomic conditions.
“This change in this change to the FII strategy accelerated in May with a massive purchase of 23,778 crores through May 16th,” he added.
Recent influx has come in the wake of a suspension of trade disputes between the US and China and a resolution of border tensions between India and Pakistan, amongst the improvements in trade relations around the world. Leads remain strong, with the country expected to record growth rates above 6% in fiscal 2026.
